13.11.2009: Ščerbatihs’ coach disqualified

Viktors Ščerbatihs’ coach Eduards Andruškevičs has been disqualified by Latvian Weightlifting Clubs Association (LWCA) for six months from participation (as coach or delegate) in competitions organised by LWCA and competitions in which LWCA is represented.
Andruškevičs has been disqualified for entering weightlifters for participation in competitions without permission of LWCA.
The conflict originates from establishment of Latvian Weightlifting Federation (steered by Sčerbatihs and Andruškevičs) which puts claim to become the only recognized weightlifting federation in Latvia. Currently the only recognized one is LWCA.

06.09.2009: Two federations again

Once again there are two weightlifting federations in Latvia – Latvian Weightlifting Clubs Association (LWCA), the only recognized federation, affiliated to the IWF, and the newly founded Latvian Weightlifting Federation (LWF), steered by Viktors Ščerbatihs and Eduards Andruškevičs.
The later now puts claim to become the only recognized one. This repeats the situation in 2002/2003 when LWF (another federation by content, the same title) lost its rights to LWCA.
